52 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for the Environment whether he has satisfied himself with the list of possible sites for overnight commercial vehicle parking submitted by Dublin Corporation; and when he will be in a position to decide on legislation to make commercial vehicle parking overnight in residential areas illegal.

My Department have received information from the Dublin local authorities on possible locations for on street parking of large vehicles. This is being made available to the gardaí to assist in their examination of proposals for bylaws to control such parking; such bylaws would be made by the Garda Commissioner, with my consent.
