29 Proinsias De Rossa asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if the Government will seek the introduction of an EC common industrial policy to promote job creation on a Community wide basis; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
A common approach to EC industrial policy has been agreed by the EC Council of Industry Ministers in November 1990 on the basis of a detailed Commission communication. This approach is predicated on the development and structural adjustment of industry though the creation of open competitive markets and by measures to promote a favourable economic environment.
