34 Mr. Garland asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he has any plans to establish a plant to recycle the vast quantity of used paper which is at present surplus to requirements.
The IDA have day to day responsibility for the promotion of industrial projects such as the establishment of a paper recycling plant. I have no direct function in the matter.
I am advised that the IDA, together with the Smurfit Group, have recently established a working group to examine ways of economically handling the increased volume of used paper which is at present surplus to requirements.
