205 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Defence if he will instruct the Army authorities to permit the reserve defence force representative associations to hold meetings at all Army training centres, so that (1) proper and accurate communication can take place and (2) the necessary preparation can be put in hand prior to formal recognition.
The drafting of Defence Force regulations to provide for the formal establishment of a representative association for members of the reserve Defence Force is at an advanced stage in my Department. Consultations have taken place and will continue with representatives from an Forsa Costanta Aitiúil and An Slua Muirí in regard to the content of these draft regulations. My Department has already intimated that official accommodation may, subject to the exigencies of the service, be made available for the purpose of holding meetings in connection with representation.
