127 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Defence if he has satisfied himself that every opportunity is taken to ensure that the Permanent Defence Forces have available to them the most modern facilities in terms of training, clothing and military equipment including communications and transport; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The Defence Vote for 1991 provides for pay, equipment, training facilities and clothing for the Permanent Defence Forces to enable them to carry out their existing roles.
The provision of training facilities, clothing and military equipment for the Permanent Defence Forces is kept under continual review. Within the resources available every effort is made to ensure that the most efficient and modern equipment is provided.
