228 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will outline (1) the number of times the special GATT forum group set up in 1988 by the then Minister for Agriculture and Food has met; (2) the dates of these meetings and (3) the composition of the special GATT forum group.
The special GATT Forum was set up in October 1988 and has met on 17 occasions, the dates of which are as follows: 27.10.1988; 1.12.1988; 15.3.1989; 7.7.1989; 28.7.1989, 5.12.1989; 7.2.1990; 11.5.1990; 3.7.1990; 20.7.1990; 12.9.1990; 14.11.1990; 12.12.1990; 18.4.1991; 11.7.1991; 27.11.1991 and 22.1.1992.
The group comprises representatives of An Bord Bainne, Confederation of Irish Industry, Coras Beostoic agus Feola, Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers' Association, Irish Co-Operative Organisation Society, Irish Farmers Association, the Irish Grain and Feed Association, Irish Meat Processors Association, Macra na Feirme, TEAGASC, and UCD (Department of Agricultural Economics).
The group is chaired and serviced by my Department
