Vol. 415 No. 9

Written Answers. - School Transport Vehicles.

Andrew Boylan

Ceist:

113 Mr. Boylan asked the Minister for Education if he has satisfied himself that the present fleet of school buses are both road-worthy and safe for the transport of children; if he will give details of the average age of buses making up the fleet; and if he will outline the requirements as regards these buses passing MOT tests.

I am satisfied that all vehicles operating the school transport schemes meet all safety standards and those vehicles with over eight adult seats and more than one year old have passed the Department of Environment tests in regard to roadworthiness.
