Vol. 416 No. 8

Written Answers. - Vehicle Roadworthiness Testing.

John Bruton

Ceist:

123 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for the Environment if he will give details of the facilities that will be provided in County Meath for roadworthiness testing of light goods vehicles and of private cars, over four years old, which he announced he intends to make compulsory from 1993 and 1998 respectively, and if he will outline the likely cost, if any, to motorists of these tests.

I refer to my reply to Question 335 of 3 March 1992. The fee for testing a light goods vehicle will be £25 (plus VAT) and the fee for a certificate of roadworthiness for this vehicle category will be £5. Fees for private cars have not yet been determined.
