Ceist:63 Miss Quill asked the Minister for Justice if he will outline the number of newly trained gardaí who have been assigned to Cork city in each of the years between 1987 and 1991.

The Garda authorities inform me that five newly trained Garda recruits were assigned to Cork city in the years 1987 to 1991. They also inform me that the allocation of new recruits to other stations throughout the country has facilitated the transfer to Cork city over the period in question of 57 gardaí who had sought such transfer.
The breakdown of gardaí assigned to Cork in both these ways in each year 1987 to 1991 is shown in the following table:
