277 Ms F. Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform the priority national conferences and programme of activity, if any, he intends to initiate in preparation for the next UN International Women's Conference to be held in Beijing in 1995.
The Government intends to make suitable preparations for the 4th United Nations World Conference on Women to be held in Beijing in 1992.
The agenda and priorities for the 1995 Conference will be clearer after the meeting from 17-27 March next of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, which acts as the Preparatory Committee for the World Conference. When that agenda is available, appropriate information initiatives will be considered in consultation with groups representative of women's interests.
