Vol. 426 No. 5

Written Answers. - Killavullen (Cork) School.

Paul Bradford

Ceist:

326 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the fact that the sewerage system at Killavullen national school, County Cork, is insufficient and on many occasions is not functioning; and the measures, if any, she intends to take to have the matter resolved as a matter of urgency.

Paul Bradford

Ceist:

328 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Education if she will confirm that a grant was sanctioned to provide an extension to Killavullen national school, County Cork; the reason the money has not yet been granted to provide the necessary extension; and when work will commence.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 326 and 328 together.

The proposed extension and conversion work to Killavullen national school was approved in 1990. Planning of the project has reached tender document stage.

Because of other demands deemed to be of higher priority which had to take precedence it has not been possible to include this project in the national school capital programme for 1993. It will continue to be considered for inclusion in the programme in due course in the light of available resources and other commitments and priorities.

Immediate corrective measures are being authorised by my Department in relation to the sewage system at the school.
