146 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for the Environment if he will provide the funding necessary for a buspark in the centre of Cashel town, County Tipperary to cater for buses bringing visitors to the Rock of Cashel; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Projects such as this fall to be financed from the local authority's own resources. They may, however, use the discretionary grants for non-national roads provided annually by my Department to supplement expenditure from their own resources on such works. Subject to general guidelines, the determination of priorities in the expenditure of these funds is entirely a matter for the local authority.
