Vol. 428 No. 5

Written Answers. - Bicycle Theft.

Eamon Gilmore

Ceist:

96 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Justice the reason the Gardaí do not keep statistics on the theft of bicycles; if she will give any estimate of the number of bicycles which are stolen each year in the State; and the plans, if any, she has to provide for a better system of monitoring bicycle theft.

Information in relation to the number of recorded larcenies of pedal cycles is published in the Garda Commissioner's Annual Report on Crime, copies of which are available in the Oireachtas Library.
