51 Mr. Currie asked the Minister for the Environment the take up to date under the shared ownership housing scheme; the changes, if any, he intends to make to the scheme in order to ensure it makes a more effective contribution to the housing problem; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The latest available details of activity by housing authorities under the shared ownership scheme are published in my Department's Housing Statistics Bulletin 1992, copies of which are available in the Oireachtas Library. The terms of the scheme are currently being reviewed in my Department, together with the terms of the other schemes introduced in "A Plan for Social Housing". The outcome will be announced as soon as the review is completed.
