94 Mr. M. McDowell asked the Minister for Tourism and Trade the way in which it is intended that the proposed Bord Bia will co-operate with An Bord Tráchtála to minimise duplication and costs; and if he will make a statement on the necessity of having two such agencies.
As I informed the House on 26th May, the question of the institutional arrangements for the export promotion/market development of food was the subject of a recommendation in the report of the expert group on the food industry which was published by my colleague, the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry, Mr. Joe Walsh, T.D. on 21st April this year.
As yet, the Government have not taken any decisions on this or other recommendations of the group but it is expected that such decisions will be taken very shortly.
