225 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the fact that St. Ernan's national school, Ballintra, County Donegal is listed amongst the seriously substandard schools in County Donegal; and the plans, if any, she has to carry out repairs to this school.

My Department has recently received a detailed report from its professional advisers on the refurbishment needs of St. Ernan's national school, Ballintra, County Donegal and this report is being considered at present. My Department will be in touch shortly with the chairman of the board of management on the matter.

226 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the fact that Scoil Náisiúnta an Bhreacaigh, Ardara, County Donegal is categorised by the INTO survey of national schools as being seriously substandard; and the plans, if any, she has to repair and refurbish this school.

My Department has not received any complaint from the school authorities at Scoil Náisiúnta an Bhreacaigh, Ardara, County Donegal that the school is substandard.

227 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the substandard condition of Teevog national school, Cloghan County Donegal; and the plans, if any, she has for carrying out repairs and refurbishment to this school.

There is no record in my Department of an application for remedial works to upgrade a substandard national school at Teevog, Taodhbhog, County Donegal.

228 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the substandard condition of Árainn Mhór (2) national school, roll No. 16384; and the plans, if any she has to bring this school up to an acceptable standard.

I am aware of the unsatisfactory conditions at this school. My Department is currently examining the various options available to provide improved facilities for the pupils and teachers in question.

229 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the fact that Scoil Mhuire, Glenties, County Donegal is considered substandard according to the INTO survey of schools; and the plans, if any, she has to refurbish and repair this school.

Professional reports recently received on the accommodation needs of Scoil Mhuire, Glenties, County Donegal are being assessed in my Department at present. I hope to be in a position to put proposals to the school authorities shortly.
