146 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications the total amount of money from the proceeds of the national lottery which has been distributed by his Department; and the total amount of such moneys that has been allocated to community, sporting and voluntary bodies.
147 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications the total amount of money made available to his Department from the proceeds of the national lottery since 1 January 1993; and the uses to which this money has been put.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 146 and 147 together.
The only project funded by my Department with national lottery funds is the restoration of the GPO Building, Dublin. To date national lottery funds amounting to £2,888,219 have been paid, through grants, to An Post for the project. The provision in this year's Vote for my Department for the project is £729,000. My Department has not allocated any national lottery funds to community, sporting or voluntary bodies.
