Vol. 437 No. 4

Written Answers. - Sale of Land.

Joe Costello

Ceist:

51 Mr. Costello asked the Minister for Health the way in which money received for the sale of the 22 acres of Kempton Site, Navan Road, Dublin 7, for £3 million approximately was disposed of; when the new Eastern Health Board unit for the elderly will be constructed at the rear of Ashgrove House, Navan Road, Dublin 7; whether it will be a residential unit; and whether it will have day care and weekend facilities.

The proceeds from the sale of the 22 acre site at Navan Road, Dublin 7 are being used by the Eastern Health Board for the provision and development of community based units for the elderly and possibly for other community based facilities to be agreed within the context of the Board's capital programme.

The Board's plans for the development of community based units for the elderly include provision of such units on the site at the rear of Ashgrove House, Navan Road, Dublin 7. The Board's plans for these units include long term residential nursing care, short term respite care and day care facilities. A decision on the timing of this development has yet to be taken within the context of the Board's overall capital development programme.
