Vol. 440 No. 7

Written Answers. - Public Offices Opening Hours.

Richard Bruton

Ceist:

140 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment whether public offices serving the public under the auspices of his Department are open through lunch; if not, the length of time they are closed during lunch time; and his views on whether lunch time would be the most convenient time to call for many members of the public.

The situation in regard to the lunch time period in the Department's public offices is as follows:

Office

Lunchtime Arrangements

Companies Registration Office

Closed 1.00 to 2.15 p.m.

Insurance inquiries and Casual Trading

Closed 12.30 to 2.30 p.m.

Licences

Office of the Director of Consumer Affairs

Closed 1.00 to 2.30 p.m.

Patents Office

Open

Registry of Friendly Societies

Closed 1.15 to 2.30 p.m.

With the exception of the Office of the Director of Consumer Affairs and the Insurance inquiries, the public offices outlined above deal mainly with persons from the business and professional sectors.
