Ceist:152 Miss M. Wallace asked the Minister for Education the reason £9,000 was paid to Meath County Council in 1993 as a condition of the planning permission Section 84 for the Ashbourne all-Irish school.

An amount of £9,000 was sought by Meath County Council to comply with the financial conditions of Planning Permission 89/001026. This amount was paid in 1993 to comply with condition 8 in the schedule of 12 conditions forwarded to the Department on 15 September, 1989 by Meath County Council. The reason given for the charge was to contribute towards the cost of providing water and sewerage.
