Vol. 444 No. 1

Written Answers. - Public Service Pension Schemes.

Gay Mitchell

Ceist:

134 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health if he will examine the problem faced by nurses who trained in England and do not have the training years reckoned for pension purposes in this country, in particular, the case of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 6W; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

My colleague, the Minister for Finance, Deputy Ahern, has overall responsibility for policy in relation to public service pension schemes in this country. There are, currently, no arrangements in place to provide for recognition of service in the United Kingdom or any other country for superannuation purposes in this country.
