Vol. 444 No. 5

Written Answers. - Forestry Act, 1946 Query.

Seamus Kirk

Ceist:

87 Mr. Kirk asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the meaning of the term "tree" in the Forestry Act, 1946, under which tree felling licences are issued.

The Forestry Act, 1946, section (2), states that the word "tree" does not include any hazel, apple, plum, damson, pear or cherry tree grown for the value of its fruit or any osier, but with those exceptions includes every tree of any age or any stage of growth.
