75 Mr. Kenneally asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason his Department refused to take possession of a reactor cow belonging to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick in accordance with section 20 of the Disease of Animals Act, 1966; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8554/95]
The reactor animal referred to was removed in accordance with the relevant provisions included in the Bovine Tuberculosis (Attestation of the State and General Provisions) Order, 1989, made under, inter alia, section 20 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966. It is in the national interest that all parties involved should co-operate with the arrangements in place for eradication of TB.
