Vol. 453 No. 6

Written Answers. - Cork District Courthouse.

Liam Burke

Ceist:

100 Mr. L. Burke asked the Minister for Justice the cost of building and equipping the new Cork District Courthouse complex at Anglesea Street; the plans, if any, she has to extend the facilities in the future should the need arise; if a public open day prior to the commissioning of the building was contemplated; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [9735/95]

The provision of the new Cork District Courthouse is costing £1.78 million approximately. The site has capacity for expansion if the need arises, at some time in the future. When this is required, plans will then be drawn up taking account of the requirements to be met.

I plan to open the courthouse formally when all the works are completed.
