Vol. 455 No. 3

Written Answers - Control of Dogs.

Noel Ahern

Ceist:

88 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for the Environment the plans, if any, he has regarding the nuisance of barking dogs at night; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12131/95]

Section 25 of the Control of Dogs Act, 1986, provides that any person may make a complaint to the District Court in relation to a nuisance created as a result of excessive barking by a dog. It is a matter for the court to decide whether a nuisance had been created and the action to take. I have no plans to amend the law in this regard.
