Vol. 459 No. 6

Written Answers. - First Registration Application.

Michael Finucane

Ceist:

141 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Justice the status of an application for first registration by a person (details supplied) in County Limerick in view of the fact that all details to queries have been furnished. [18749/95]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this application for first registration was first lodged on 6 April, 1993. Because of their complicated nature, this type of dealing requires that the applicant's right to be registered as the owner of the property involved be fully investigated.

I am informed that the Land Registry issued queries to the applicant's solicitors on 30 March, 1994 and 28 October, 1994 and that the documents lodged were returned to the solicitors on 28 April, 1985, at their request, to enable them to answer the queries issued by the Land Registry.
I understand that the documents were re-lodged in the Land Registry on 18 July, 1995 and that further queries were issued by the Land Registry to the applicant's solicitors on 26 September, 1995. Arising from a reply which was received from the applicant's solicitors on 1 November, 1995 further queries have issued on 12 December, 1995. Registration of the title cannot proceed until these queries are fully dealt with.
