Forfás/Ireland completed the purchase of lands at Swords, County Dublin, last October which brought their holdings of land in the area to approximately 48 acres. Site development works are currently in progress. Planning permission is being sought from Fingal County Council by two private developers for the construction of two advance factories on the land for IDA marketing purposes. Forbairt's area manager for Dublin North has had a number of meetings with representatives of Swords Chamber of Commerce about the establishment of an enterprise centre in Swords. The basis on which Forbairt could support a community-owned enterprise centre has been fully outlined by the Forbairt area manager but to date no firm proposals have been submitted to Forbairt by Swords Chamber of Commerce or by any other community group in Swords. The other recommendations made by the task force concern other Government Departments whose attention has been brought to the recommendations of the task force and who are considering them.
