181 Mr. Bree asked the Minister for the Environment the current position regarding the proposed north Leitrim regional water supply scheme; and if his attention has been drawn to the necessity of such a scheme in order to ensure an adequate supply of water for the Manorhamilton, Dromahair, Drumkeerin and north Leitrim area in general. An application for the Lough Gill regional water supply scheme, which includes the Manorhamilton, Dromahair, Drumkeerin water supply scheme has been submitted to the European Commission for Cohesion Fund assistance. Pending the Commission's decision, and having regard to the existing level of commitments under the water and sewerage programme, I cannot say when it may be possible to advance this scheme.
