Defence Force Regulations prescribe the scale of issue and the period of replacement of uniforms to members of An Fórsa Cosanta Áitiúil. On enlistment, both female and male recruits are issued with a working dress uniform. The articles of clothing that comprise the service dress uniform are issued on completion of 18 months' satisfactory service.
