Vol. 467 No. 7

Written Answers. - Voluntary Early Retirement.

Phil Hogan

Ceist:

433 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Defence the total number of army personnel that have applied for the voluntary early retirement scheme; the number of applications received from personnel serving at James Stephens Military Barracks, Kilkenny; and the number of applications that have been successful. [14195/96]

A total of 1,119 applications have been received from members of the Permanent Defence Force under the terms of the voluntary early retirement scheme; 16 of those applications were received from personnel serving in Stephen's Barracks, Kilkenny.

A number of offers of early retirement under the scheme have already been made and will continue to be made over the coming weeks.
