209 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment if the International Labour Organisation Convention on Home Work has been adopted by the Government; when formal ratification and implementation will take place; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20343/96]

A convention on homeworking was adopted by the ILO during its annual conference in June 1996. The Irish delegation supported the adoption of the convention and an associated recommendation.

My officials are examining what steps, if any, may be required in domestic law to ratify the convention.
