Ceist:31 Mr. Callely asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs his usage of air transport for foreign and internal flights in 1996; the passengers who travelled with him on each flight; and the related costs in this regard. [23736/96]
I refer the Deputy to my reply to Questions No. 59 of 7 March 1996 and No. 18 and 52 of 4 July 1996, giving, inter alia, details of my external and internal travel during the period 1 January 1996 to 30 June 1996.
Details of my official commitments for the period 1 July 1996 to the present are set out in the following tables. During this period I participated in 13 EU meetings at ministerial level, ten Troika ministerial meetings, 16 Anglo Irish meetings/talks, a Western European Union ministerial meeting and two Bosnia Conference meetings. I also attended the UN General Assembly in New York, where I had in excess of 30 meetings in four days both in my capacity as President in Office of the EU and bilaterals at foreign ministerial level. The cost chargeable to my Department for flights during this period was £702.00.
