Ceist:225 Mr. N. Treacy asked the Minister for Education the reason a person (details supplied) in County Galway has not been appointed; the date on which she will be appointed; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [4472/97]
Written Answers. - School Clerical Posts.
Prior to the amalgamation of the two schools at the location in question, the person concerned was employed with County Galway vocational education committee on a part-time basis in the vocational school. Upon amalgamation, she was assimilated into the new community school on similar terms to those previously enjoyed and she continues to be employed in a part-time capacity.
Having regard to Government policy on public sector numbers, it is not proposed to create an additional full-time clerical post at the school.
