226 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for the Environment when he will sanction £1.2 million for a regional water supply scheme (details supplied) in County Mayo in view of the fact that the families involved have no running water. [13564/97]
The Erris regional water supply scheme extension to Bangor, costing an estimated £1.75 million, is about to commence construction. Having regard to the existing level of commitments under the water and sewerage schemes programme, I cannot say when it may be possible to approve further extensions of this scheme including the proposed extension to the Mullet Peninsula.
