Ceist:512 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive a folio number for his land. [14803/97]
Written Answers - Registration of Title.
I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that the application referred to by the Deputy involves a Land Commission Schedule. In the case of such schedules, the property is deemed to be registered as of date of vesting by the Land Commission. It is, however, the policy of the Land Registry to try, as far as possible, to expedite cases in which it can be established that special circumstances of urgency exist. Any such cases will be specially considered if details of the reasons for urgency are submitted to the Registrar of Titles.
I am further informed that Dealing No. 91SMO5951, which refers to a Transfer of Part, is an associated dealing to the schedule. Queries issued to the lodging solicitor are still awaiting a reply. This dealing cannot proceed until the queries raised are satisfactorily discharged.

Ceist:513 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will have arrangements made to expedite the registration of lands for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo in view of the fact that the delay is causing financial hardship. [14804/97]
I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that these dealings refer to applications under section 49 (i.e. acquisition of title by virtue of long possession) of the Registration of Title Act, 1964 which were lodged on 27 February 1996 and 20 January 1997 respectively. I understand that requisitions on title were raised with the lodging solicitor on 26 September 1997 and a reply is awaited. The matter cannot proceed until the requisitions raised are satisfactorily discharged.
