147 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if his Department will expedite a dealing in the Land Registry Office for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo in view of the fact that the delay is causing hardship. [20852/97]
I am informed by the Registrar of Titles, that this dealing refers to an application under section 49 (i.e. acquisition of title by virtue of long possession) of the Registration of Title Act, 1964, which was lodged on 10 November 1997. I understand that due to their complicated nature applications under section 49 take some time to process and it is not possible to estimate a completion date at this stage.
