Vol. 488 No. 1

Written Answers - Grant Payments.

Liam Aylward

Ceist:

137 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will have arrangements made for payment of cattle and sheep headage grants to a person (details supplied) in County Carlow in view of the fact that it is outstanding since November 1997. [5706/98]

Advance payments of £432.81 and £504.82 issued to the person concerned on 8 December 1997 in respect of special beef premium and suckler cow payments respectively. However before the balance of the premia payments and the cattle headage payments can issue the forage area declared by the person concerned must be validated by the Land Parcel Identification Systems (LPIS). As maps of the person's land were not received I have arranged for town-land maps to issue to him from my Department. As soon as these maps are returned with the boundaries of his holding outlined, the area will be cleared on the Land Parcel Identification System and the remaining payments can then issue.
