155 Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim will be called for a hip replacement. [7820/98]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Leitrim is the statutory responsibility of the North-Western Health Board in the first instance. I have asked the chief executive officer of the North-Western Health Board to investigate the position in relation to this matter and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.

156 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Sligo will be called for her hip operation in view of the fact that she is unable to move out of her house and is in extreme pain; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7822/98]
