Written Answers. - Capital Expenditure Inflation.
My Department uses the rate of inflation laid down in the annual Department of Finance circular on estimates of expenditure and forecasts which is issued to all Government Departments. The capital expenditure inflator laid down for 1998 under the heading building and construction is 2.9 per cent. In previous years, the rates used were those given in the appropriate Department of Finance circulars.
