Vol. 490 No. 4

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

80 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will instruct the Land Commission to rectify the mistake made by them with an undivided moiety for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo in view of the fact the proper title to this was never completed. [10338/98]

I have had the Land Commission re-examine its records in this matter and the details of the allotment are as set out in my reply to the Deputy's question of 22 April 1998 — No. 168. In relation to the second moiety, it was made clear to the allottee at the time of the allotment that the Land Commission could not confer title in respect of this moiety as it was unregistered. The vesting order dated 20 May 1969, a copy of which was sent to the allottee, specified that title to only one moiety was being transferred. The allottee in accordance with the Land Acts was afforded an opportunity to query the vesting order, and as no objection was received within the statutory time period allowed, the vesting order was lodged in Land Registry to complete registration.
