Vol. 490 No. 4

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

81 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be paid the remainder of his 1997 suckler cow scheme and ten month special beef premium in view of the fact that he returned maps to the area aid office some time ago in order to reconcile the apparent overclaim and in view of the fact that the reply to Parliamentary Question No. 321 of 21 April 1998 was incorrect. [10339/98]

I regret the error in the reply to Parliamentary Question No. 321 of 21 April 1998 in this case. Arrangements have been put in place in the area aid unit for the examination of all outstanding cases within the coming three to four weeks. Within this process, priority is being given to applicants for whom payments are outstanding.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 85 and 86 together.

As regards outstanding payments for 1997, arrangements have been put in place in the area aid unit for the examination of all outstanding cases within the coming three to four weeks. Within this process, priority is being given to applicants for whom payments are outstanding. At this stage all maps that can issue have issued. If the absence of a map causes difficulty, the applicant may enter the details for the relevant parcel on the 1998 application form, in the same manner as it was entered on the 1997 application form.
