Vol. 491 No. 3

Written Answers. - Pension Provisions.

John Perry

Ceist:

268 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Health and Children further to Parliamentary Question No. 224 of 24 February 1998, the entitlements, if any, of a person (details supplied) in County Sligo under the superannuation legislation, in view of the information supplied; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11653/98]

As explained to the Deputy in response to his previous question of 24 February, 1998, the officer concerned has exhausted her entitlements to sick pay. My Department is not this officer's direct employer and for this reason no records regarding her entitlements under the relevant Superannuation Act are maintained by my Department. However, officers of my Department made inquiries on her behalf and have been informed that if this officer chooses to resign on the grounds of ill health, subject to the approval of the North-Western Health Board, she would receive an additional seven years 100 days' service which would bring her service up to twenty years. Based on this, the officer concerned would receive a lump sum of £11,000 and an annual allowance of £3,750.50. However, the officer concerned should be advised to contact the North-Western Health Board for advice on this matter.
