103 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food whether a person who owns and runs a holding of land, with his wife owning and running a separate farm of land, with two separate folio numbers and two separate herd numbers, is entitled to join the REP scheme in his own right; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Each application is considered on its merits in the context of compliance with the terms and conditions of the rural environment protection scheme. However, the Deputy should be aware that the REP scheme specifically excludes the creation of holdings for the purpose of claiming or maximising payments under the scheme.
