Vol. 495 No. 7

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Charles Flanagan

Ceist:

468 Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Offaly will be called for a heart by-pass operation at St James Hospital, Dublin 8. [21785/98]

The provision of medical treatment in this case is the statutory responsibility of the hospital concerned. I have asked the chief executive officer of the hospital concerned to investigate this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.

Austin Deasy

Ceist:

469 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will have examinations made into the case of a person (details supplied) in County Waterford who is suffering acute pain awaiting assessment for total hip replacement on the recommendation of a consultant rheumatologist; and if he will ensure that no further delay occurs in this case. [21786/98]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Waterford in this instance is the statutory responsibility of the South-Eastern Health Board. I have asked the chief executive office of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
