485 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the changes, if any, he made to the recommendations of the Electoral Area Boundary Committee Report 1998 when making the 32 orders under section 24 of the Local Government Act, 1994, and the Dublin Electoral Area Boundary Committee Report 1998; the five orders still to be signed; and when will this be done. 486 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if the recommendations of the Electoral Area Boundary Committee Report, 1998 for County Mayo have been adopted; if so, the changes, if any, made to this; and if it has not been signed if it will be signed as recommended without alteration. [21003/98]
I propose to take Questions Nos. 485 and 486 together.
Orders neccessary to implement the recommendations of the Electoral Area Boundary Committee Report, 1998 and the Dublin Electoral Area Boundary Committee Report, 1998 have been made in respect of 36 areas. No changes were made to the recommendations in the reports.
An order for County Mayo will be made as soon as possible.
