Vol. 495 No. 7

Written Answers. - Employment Appeals Tribunal.

John Gormley

Ceist:

122 Mr. Gormley asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the plans, if any, she has to provide computer access to interested parties to the more recent decisions and determinations of the Employment Appeals Tribunal; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [21364/98]

The Department's Internet website is currently being redeveloped to provide a more comprehensive information service. It is intended that the decisions of the Employment Appeals Tribunal will be available on the new website early in the new year.

Ceist:

123 Mr. Gormley asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if she will maintain existing staffing levels at the Employment Appeals Tribunal and continue to develop back-up resources in order to ensure that the service it is currently providing to its users is maintained; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [21365/98]

Staffing levels will be maintained at an appropriate level, having regard to any variations in the tribunal's workload, Government policy on staffing numbers in the Civil Service and departmental priorities.

Ceist:

124 Mr. Gormley asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the plans, if any, she has to provide for the filling of the single vacancy on the employers' panel and the two vacancies on the employees' panel of the Employment Appeals Tribunal; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [21366/98]

I understand there is no vacancy on the employers' panel of the Employment Appeals Tribunal at the present time.

There is, however, one vacancy on the employees' panel. I am currently in the process of making arrangements to have that vacancy filled.
