363 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will provide funding to AMEN in County Meath (details supplied) in view of the fact that it is a national organisation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22936/98]
I regret that I do not have any funding available to assist this organisation. While my Department is funding the work of the national steering committee on violence against women, the funding for victims of domestic violence is provided by the Department of Health and Children, through the health boards.
I advise this organisation, therefore, to pursue the matter with my colleague the Minister for Health and Children, Deputy Cowen.
