Vol. 500 No. 5

Written Answers. - Care Order.

Beverley Flynn

Ceist:

136 Ms Cooper-Flynn asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason the Eastern Health Board has not implemented a care order in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Mayo in view of the fact that it is the wish of the foster parents that a care order be put in place as a matter of urgency. [4500/99]

I understand the natural mother of the child in care is now living in Galway. Accordingly, the Western Health Board is dealing with this very sensitive matter. I have passed on details of the case referred to by the Deputy to the chief executive officer of the board and asked her to reply directly to the Deputy.
