Vol. 503 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Creed

Ceist:

269 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will be paid a 1998 area aid grant in view of the fact she has returned maps. [10244/99]

The area aid application for the person concerned has been processed. However, the applicant sought to include additional land on the application but this could not be facilitated as no map had been received. A map was subsequently received but the land was not outlined on it. This map was returned to the applicant with a request that the land be clearly outlined.

The map has now been returned and processed. A further problem has arisen in that, another applicant has also claimed this land. Both parties have been contacted with a view to resolving this situation.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

270 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo has not received a REP scheme payment in view of the fact his year ended on 30 June 1998 and he was inspected on 18 March 1999. [10245/99]

This case was chosen at random for pre-payment inspection. On inspection an issue has arisen in relation to the lease of land and additional documentation has been requested from the applicant but this has not been received to date.

No payment can issue until this matter has been satisfactorily resolved.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

271 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Galway will receive 1998 headage and premia payments in view of the fact he submitted maps to the area aid unit several weeks ago. [10246/99]

The area aid application has been processed for the person concerned. However, the applicant sought to include additional land on the application but this could not be facilitated as maps had not been received. My Department contacted the person concerned but maps have still not been received. The area aid unit has issued maps to him and his application will be further processed when these maps are returned.

Ceist:

272 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive 1998 cattle headage and a suckler cow premium. [10247/99]

There is a difficulty on the area aid application of the person named concerning his claim in relation to commonage entitlement. In order to resolve this matter, my Department wrote to all the parties concerned, including the person named, enclosing maps and requesting them to indicate their precise commonage shares and to submit evidence of their entitlement to the commonage areas claimed by them. His application cannot be further processed until a reply has been received to this correspondence.

Michael P. Kitt

Ceist:

273 Mr. M. Kitt asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when grants will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; and when a new herd number will be issued to him. [10267/99]

The old herd number of the person named was cancelled on 8 April 1999. Since then a new herd number has been granted to him and he has been informed of this.

The person named has been paid his entitlement under the ewe premium, sheep headage, cattle headage, suckler cow premium and winter fodder schemes. He has also been paid advance payment of 80 per cent under the special beef premium scheme. Full payment will issue under this scheme next month. Any entitlement to extensification premium will then be established. It is expected to commence payment under this scheme in late May/early June.

The total amount paid to date under the 1998 schemes to the person named amounts to £3,082.82.

Ceist:

274 Mr. M. Kitt asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when cattle headage grants will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway. [10268/99]

A 1998 area aid application was received from the person in question which consisted of six parcels of land. No maps were included with the application to show the location of the land. A map of the townland where the land is located was issued to the person named on two occasions by the area aid unit of my Department so as to enable the person to show the boundaries of the land parcels included on the area aid application. These maps were not returned.

A third letter issued to the applicant on 9 April 1999 from the area aid unit, requesting the return of the map. This application cannot be further processed until the person concerned returns the map supplied with the boundaries of the land parcels outlined.

275 Mr. M. Kitt asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when cattle headage and suckler cow grants will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway. [10270/99]

Application was made by the person named under the suckler cow premium/cattle headage schemes on 29 May 1998 in respect of 60 cows.

Full payment under the cattle headage scheme amounting to £3,360 issued on 12 November 1998. His application for suckler cow premium has been processed and arrangements have been made to issue payment. Payment will issue within the next two weeks.
