336 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children if the Western Health Board has a scheme in place, whereby people who cannot get appointments for consultants or specialists in County Mayo and have to travel outside the county will be provided with transport; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The provision of transport services to eligible persons in County Mayo in this instance is the statutory responsibility of the Western Health Board. I have asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this matter and to reply to the Deputy directly.
